Writing a Message in Source Edit (Using OE/WM)

This is the recommended way to write your message. The easiest for me is to use the Edit window. So let's start with that. When you write your message in this window, it does not change your original script. It only travels with the stationery you are getting ready to send.  When I have several groups to send to, I write the message. Then before sending it, I highlight the text and do a ctrl-C to copy the message. Then when I open the stationery again, I paste the message into the text box. Then send to the next group. First I will cover Edit. Then we will discuss Source. You can use either way you prefer. Click on thumbnail and then image in new window to enlarge.

Edit window

Writing in Edit: This is the default window which is available when you open your stationery. Double-click on the word indicating where the text should start. You will see a text box appear. Once you see the text box, then highlight the word(s) and begin typing your message. When you have completed your text, click outside the text box. I like this way because you can see exactly how your message will look. You can now use the preview tab to see your stationery in action. But, be sure to return to the Edit tab before sending your stationery.

Writing in Source: Sometimes it may be necessary to write your message in Source. But you must be very careful when using this method as you are writing in the script once again. But if you do mess up, you can open a new copy of the stationery and start over again.

When you go into source, you will see your html script. Do not panic.  Click on thumbnail and then image in new window to enlarge.

Source Window

Now find where it says "Text" or "Text Goes Here" These words will be in between  <div>text</div>. It will not be highlighted as here, but this is the way it will look. You will learn to look for it near the stationery creator's area, just before the VBS script. [<script language=vbscript>] Click on thumbnail and then image in new window to enlarge.

source edit

This where you may write your message. Be sure to stay in between the two DIVS. Once you have written your message, you may preview your stationery. But before sending, be sure to go back to the edit tab.

Okay, any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me. You can email me at dottieb1@swbell.net . You can not learn if you do not ask questions when needed. Believe me, I have been there and most of the time, still am!
